The Coastline Newspaper Group

The Coastline Newspaper Group was started by Michael McRae in 1986 with the Coastline Newspaper, a monthly paper home delivered into the Bundaberg area.

Michael had previously worked in radio and television. He started his media career at Radio 4MB in Maryborough, he then moved to 2GZ in Orange where he was given a position at the Central West TV network as a news presenter. Some years later he was offered the senior news presenter job at WIN TV and for 18 years presented the 6 pm main news. He also compered many live shows for the station.

In 1988 Michael started the Tourist Queensland newspaper for visitors to Expo 88 in Brisbane. This publication was then published six times a year and expanded to cover most tourist areas of the state.

The Coalfields Express newspaper was first published 20 years ago to cover most of the mining towns. 

The Coastline Newspapers Group publishes the Bundy Book for visitors to the area. This popular colour, glossy magazine was started in the 1990s. The Bundy Local Book also a glossy magazine is delivered to farming communities and homes in the Bundaberg area.

The Coastline Newspaper Group have won a number of tourist awards in the Southern Reef Awards- Highly Commended Media Print in 1993, Tourist Media in 2002, Fraser Awards for Tourism Award and Outstanding Contribution by an Individual for Michael McRae in 2006.
